Laith Al-Janabi
graduated from Birkbeck College, University of London with a BSc Financial
Economics in 1993 and has over 20 years of investment banking experience,
13 of those with Morgan Stanley Europe's Fixed Income Group.
Previously, he held the position
of Director for European Business Development at Stadium Capital Financing
Group LLC (SCFG), a Morgan Stanley Principal Investments majority owned
sports marketing company, providing a debt free capital raising solution
to sports teams and stadium owners.
A multi-faceted role, Laith
was responsible for research, sales, marketing and strategic planning
of sales areas and continues to act for SCFG in an advisory capacity.
He has developed strong investment banking relationships as well as an
extensive network of European football club and football industry contacts.
Possessing an encyclopaedic
knowledge of world football, he has contributed to publications such as
FC Business and the weekly Football Partnerships Podcast. Laith is a strong
advocate of clubs looking outside their current industry-orientated operating
models, stressing the importance of adopting revenue streams independent
of clubs on-pitch success.
Outside of business, Laith
is a also qualified Traditional Shotokan Karate Instructor and is married
with one child.
